Nov. 4th, Bible Study

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:46 am by cudala

Scripture: Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on earth.”

We had 10 students present this morning. We are in prayer for those involved in the accident that is holding up the traffic. We also were in prayer for Sophia’s mom, Isaac’s friend, Carlie’s friend’s dad, and others who are experiencing major health issues. Haley supplied the group with snacks this morning–thanks,  Haley!

Setting Priorities! We discussed how much time we spend during the day doing our normal tasks and routines. We realized that many of us understand and have the desire to take time to spend with God, but don’t always follow through. We made a commitment with another person to set aside 15 minutes every day to study God’s word.  Remember to keep the prayer requests in mind as you study your Bible.

Oct. 28 Thursday Morning Bible Study

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:35 pm by cudala

With 18 students present, Abby opened with prayer.

Carl led the devotion from Ephesians 6:10-18, reminding us to put on the full armor of God and to be prepared. He also shared a story about a man who was in an accident  but was prepared with an emergency kit in the trunk. We need to be prepared, having the scriptures in our hearts and minds so that we can share when the time comes.

Abby shared brownies (yum!) as the group discussed how this scripture relates to each individual.

Isaac volunteered to prepare the devotion for next Thursday’s Bible Study.

It’s that time again; time to begin planning for our Huddles and meetings. Anyone interested in participating in the BCMS Leadership Team needs to see Nancy Guthrie on the 8th grade Barracuda hall. (Any adult should be sure to complete the volunteer form — if you need one, please stop by the school office for a copy). Please come by this week so we can begin planning for this school year.

John 9:1-14

How can a weakness in your life turn into an opportunity for God to show His power?

When did the man actually start seeing? What does this teach us about God’s healing and our own obedience?

Bible Study

Posted in 1 at 12:47 pm by cudala

Our scripture today, Acts 8:26-40, focuses on sharing the Good News.

We should be in God’s word, open to others, helping in understanding the Bible. We can be followers in Christ together, helping each other.

The group today decided to start reading scripture ahead of our time together so that when we meet we can be better prepared to talk about God’s word to us.

Please look at the page listed as Bible Study Outline for the dates and scriptures to be read.

Bible Study

Scripture verses: 2 Corinthians 9:6-9

We talked about our attitude when we give and how God continues to bless us. We want to help others so we continue to focus on praying and raising money for the Haitians.

We have been praying for the Haiti victims and those who are helping to serve their needs. We have collected $109.86 during the ballgame last week and yesterday during the ballgame we collected $84.65. The school teams continue to collect change during lunch and we plan to pass an envelope to the teachers this week. Our final collection will be on Thursday during the basketball game. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross to help the Haiti victims. Please be with us in prayer to help those in need.

Planning to help the Haitians

Posted in Bible Study at 2:52 pm by cudala

Today in our Bible Study, one student brought up the topic of martyrs. We discussed Stephen, the first to be martyred for Christ, and we talked about his strength displayed by his faith and willingness to speak boldly for Christ. We read in Acts chapters 6, 7, and 8.  We discussed how we should listen for the Holy Spirit and that in all things we should be reading scripture and praying for guidance.

We have been praying for a friend of Deanna’s who is in the hospital. We also are in prayer for those in Haiti.

We have decided that our fund raiser for the Haitians will take place through next Friday, Feb. 5th. We will have jars set up on on teams (via the team leaders) and we will also have a jar set up at the concession stand during the next two home games. Please help us through your prayers that people will be led to generously donate money to go to the Red Cross to help the people in Haiti.
